Hey! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Wiley and I’m the sole owner and operator of Firefly Landscape. I am queer and trans and navigate chronic injuries as a manual laborer. I always share these parts of myself in conjunction with being a landscaper, because my identities play a huge role in my business.

Firefly began in 2020 and became a full time endeavor after I sustained a lower back injury that led to me leaving my landscaping job. I needed the flexibility to pick up different kinds of work when possible and to build a client base that was compassionate and understanding of my needs to reschedule a day here and there. I also needed to start recognizing my hard work and getting paid a living wage that allowed me to pursue my physical and mental wellness. In the last couple years, I’ve built a successful client base in various communities as well as done some incredibly healing work that helps me do even more exciting work. My approach to landscaping is influenced by southern gardens, being a second generation working class landscaper, my background as a clinical and community herbalist, the feeling of home and belonging in the dirt, aquascaping and fish tanks and the desire to bring small patches of healing and nature to my clients. Access and a sense of belonging to green spaces is complicated for many of us, especially those of us with marginalized identities and the lack of resources to enjoy nature; I love helping close that gap.
